Na Ke Akua Ke Aloha	I have a name. But here I go by an alias. Here my name is adalia_jean. Adalia--German for "God is my refuge." Jean--Gaelic for "God is gracious." Or at least, that is what babynames.com tells me. So, why the livejournal? Mostly, initially, I just set up this livejournal to ramble about my intersts and to meet new people. But now, the truth is, livejournal is just so incredibly addictive! (Yes, you know what I mean, don't you?) My livejournal is Friends Only. However, feel free to friend me. Just be sure leave me a comment and say hello. And, of course, I reserve the right whether or not to friend you back. (Oooh, I sound so snooty, don't I? Ah, but that is just the law student side of me coming to the surface and CYA-ing everything. No worries, I really am not so snooty.) The lovely friends only banner was made by the lovely mlledefer. So who am I? Why, that is a rather deep question, isn't it? And the answer of which I am on a daily journey to discovering. (Perhaps that is what is meant by life being a journey? I suppose it is a journey in more ways than one, no?) Honestly, I hate writing little blurbs or whatever about myself. I am me, simply stated. I find it hard and strange to try and represent myself to other people in a manner such as this... But I'll take a stab at it here: I am perhaps a bit of an idealist and a dreamer. I fear and hate apathy. I suppose I am a jack-of-all-trades (good at everything, best at nothing) and an encyclopedia of random information. I suppose that, secretly, I am a bit of a geek. I am reserved enough that I hide quite a bit of it, however. I am a little bit of a tomboy, but I never seem like one. Sometime during my childhood, I stumbled upon fashion and loved it. I am something of a quiet person. I have heard many people even call me mysterious and that they were unable to figure me out, which was a big surprise to me. However, I can be energetic and outgoing when around my close friends. I probably come off as a very serious person, too. I suppose that I am. But I have an annoying habit of laughing at the wrong times and at the wrong things. I act serious too often and act really silly at all the wrong moments. Sometimes I get it right, though. And I really am very silly when I am around my closest friends. And some of my friends just make me downright hyper! If I could have any superhero ability, I would want to fly! I kust wanted to be clear on that. My second choice would be to be able to read people's minds. But flying is still way cooler! My intersts and hobbies? I have many many many interests and hobbies. Music, writing, art, archery, skiing, movies, movie-making, hockey, football, reading, dance, theater, politics, horses, etc. etc. and so on and so on. So many in fact that *unless* all you do all day is ice-skate, read Harry Potter, and eat seafood, we will probably find something in common. What do I do? Well... Currently, I am finishing up my law studies (paralegal/pre-law program). I am working on my internship with a family court judge. No, I do not plan to continue studying law. I am not that passionate about the system, and I do not want to go to school for another five years when I am not that passionate about it. I have lots of plans for the next several years. Which ones I will follow and will actually happen, I am not sure. I want to go back to school. I want to go to film school, which has always been my biggest dream. Recently I have been thinking that, eventaully, a little later on when perhaps I can find a way to afford it, I want to go to medical school, and possibly later join the PeaceCorps. As a doctor, I could go anywhere in the world and help so many people! Wouldn't that be awesome? And that is not even half of the plans and things that I want to do over the next 10 years or so! If I wrote them all here, you'd probably think I was insane or something. But life is meant to be lived and experienced, no? I told you I was a dreamer! And boy, do I have it bad! In my mind, there is nothing that I can't do, albeit with the right help. "We are too young to realize that certain things are just not done. So, we will do them anyway." -from the movie Amazing Grace The status quo isn't good enough. Things can alwats be better. In fact, many things NEED to be better. So, I have been becoming very passionate about helping people and changing the world, both of which I hope to help somehow do. It has helped to shape me into the person that I am. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 10:13 For whoever calls upon the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9,10 ...that if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 10:10 I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. God is such a big part of my life. Hard days come, but I'm not alone--He is with me. I am not hopeless--He gives me hope. He is my strength when I have none. He has been the steady constant of my life. I know that He is with me always. And I know that always He is taking care of me. I write all this here, because God is so awesome and I can't but help talking about Him and how much He really loves us and cares for us. I know that He loves and cares for us because I have experienced His great love in my own life. And when I see so many hopeless and depressed people I just want to share with them this great Savior--Jesus--that has made my life so complete. So hopefully, perhaps by writing this here, I can share Jesus with them and tell them how great and loving He really is. Recently, I saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent's Children. All I can say is it is AMAZING! And I adamantly believe that more Final Fantasy movies like VII should be made! Thus, an absolutely lovely colorbar of Cloud made by ericaleev:
